“Our Earth, Our Community” is the theme for EarthDay EveryDay! 2008.
In keeping with this year’s theme, we hope that each presenter will suggest or demonstrate how we can build a sustainable community.
Examples of presentations from previous years:
- Smart Energy: Wind- and solar-generated electricity, making biodiesel fuel, solar cookery
- Green Building: Rastra block and cob house building, healthy interiors, permeable driveways
- Green Transportation: Electric cars, biodiesel, bikes, and scooters
- Conserving Resources: Waste reduction, native plants, forestry, water quality, wildlife enhancement
- Sustainable Agriculture: Worm-bins, composting, permaculture design for small properties
- Strengthening Community: Cooperative gardening, book resources, calculate your footprint
- Kids Activities: Flower planting for kids, paint a miniature house, salmon life-cycle field game
- Green Marketplace (new this year!): Seeds, educational materials, non-toxic products, emergency supplies.
