Beyond Waste Introduction The Beyond Waste Action Group of Local 20/20 promotes the most responsible use of our limited natural resources by encouraging the reduction of the amount of solid waste collected in our community. To this end we support and educate local businesses, organizations and people in the removal from the waste stream of all materials and items that can be reused, recycled, donated, consigned or composted. Local 2020 encourages a sustainable lifestyle. Reducing the amount of waste we generate is central to this idea. The less waste we generate, the lower the cost to the city and county. This should also translate into lowering our bills for waste and recycling. As we change our practices about consumption, this further translates into lower costs for food and other packaged goods. Perhaps, more importantly, the less waste we generate, the better it is for our earth and the earth we leave behind for our kids.Action Group Projects The Beyond Waste Action Group of Local 20/20 is a project-oriented group and therefore does not have an established meeting schedule. Please contact us if you would like to organize a project related to our mission. If you would like to find out more about our group, call Val Johnstone at 360-385-2830.
